On March 7, two memorial exhibitions of works by Siverskodonetsk artist Borys Romanov, a world-class master of graphics, will open in Dnipro.

On March 7 at 12:00, the D.I. Yavornytsky Memorial House-Museum in partnership with the Dnipro House of Arts invites you to the opening of two memorial exhibitions at once - works by Siverskodonetsk artist Borys Romanov (1949-2025) - a world-class graphic artist, whose name is included in the World Encyclopedia of Modern Bookplates.

The opening of exhibitions at the D.I. Yavornytskyi House-Museum emphasizes the continuity of generations: just as academician Dmytro Yavornytskyi once collected historical treasures of the Ukrainian steppe, so Boris Romanov recorded the cultural code of Luhansk Region and the Dnieper region in his works.

The exhibitions include both graphic miniatures (bookplates) and watercolor landscapes created by the author after his evacuation to the Dnipro in 2022. These exhibitions are not only a tribute to the memory of an immigrant from our community, but also an act of preserving the cultural heritage of Ukraine, since some of the works were able to be taken out of occupied Siverskodonetsk under shelling.

The bookplate exhibition presents rare graphic signs dedicated to historical figures. The main part of the bookplates creatively reinterprets the image of the Great Kobzar Taras Shevchenko.

His landscapes of the Dnieper are lyrical and intimate. They almost do not feature iconic, long-known objects of the city.
Instead, his works feature old streets and houses, temples, and moments of city life.
A whole series of works "Dnieper Sketches" (it seems, for the first time in watercolor) represents such a popular recreational object as the spit on the Peremoha housing estate.

Time and place: March 7, 2026, Saturday, 12:00. Shevchenko Square, 5 (opposite the entrance to the park).

Admission on opening day is free!
