"Yesterday, the Russians fired mortars six times at settlements in Luhansk Region and fortifications of Ukrainian defenders, and used artillery in four cases. They struck twice with automatic grenade launchers. Their combat missions were carried out by 16 drones," said Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.
The invaders stormed the Liman and Slavyansk sectors of the front 14 times.
The occupiers have discovered 50,000 apartments in Luhansk Region with debts for utility services – they are going to “nationalize” them. Non-payment for utility services for one year is a pretext for the Russians to “squeeze” real estate. They agreed on this at the legislative level. In particular, in Luhansk, Alchevsk and Antracit alone, the occupiers have already found 13,000 such apartments. They call them ownerless, but for some reason a corresponding warning was sent to the owners’ addresses. With significant debts for housing and communal services in the territories captured in 2014 – 50,000 apartments, which may soon fall under “nationalization”. In Luhansk – about 10 thousand, in Alchevsk – 6.4 thousand, in Sokologirsk – 5.8 thousand, in Sorokyne – 4.9 thousand, in Kadiivka – 4.2 thousand. The cities of the occupied Luhansk region are emptying.
Almost 40% of entrepreneurs in the “LPR” are in “survival mode”. These are official data from the Russian authorities. In reality, the situation is many times worse. And with each passing year of occupation, this percentage only grows. The significant regression was, of course, influenced by the low standard of living of the population and the outflow of qualified personnel. However, among the main reasons for the decline of Luhansk business are the high price of real estate rental and significant pressure on local business from the Kremlin, where they are accustomed to monopoly.
