Today, the opening of the photo exhibition "Volunteers of Luhansk Region", dedicated to the courage and indomitability of Ukrainian volunteers, took place.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine by the military orchestra of the Operational Command "East".
The participants gathered to honor those who, during the most difficult time for the country, did not wait for an order, but voluntarily stood up to defend Ukraine.
A minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of all the fallen Defenders who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our state.
The meeting with the family of volunteer Oleksandr Taranenko was particularly touching. In 2015, he joined the Dnipro-1 volunteer battalion and underwent baptism of fire in Pisky, Donetsk region. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he again joined the ranks of the Defenders and participated in hostilities in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. The family was presented with flowers and a commemorative gift, and gratitude was expressed for the implementation of the educational and rehabilitation project "Hold on to the Mane" on hippotherapy for veterans and servicemen.
Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Oleksiy Kharchenko thanked the Ukrainian volunteers for their courage, patriotism, and devotion to Ukraine.
The photo exhibition "Volunteers of Luhansk Region" is the stories of people who stood up for the defense of Ukraine in 2014 and 2022 and continue to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today. Each photo is an example of courage, strength of spirit, and boundless love for the Motherland.
