UAH 32.2 million for summer recreation, support from regional authorities for youth initiatives, assistance to relocated businesses – Oleksiy Kharchenko on the main events of the week

"The youth presented ideas that they would like to implement in the near future: "School of Adult Life" for pupils and students, the "Career Booster for IDPs" project, which provides assistance in finding a first job and organizing internships, as well as the initiative to create an institute of Luhansk Region Ambassadors to promote the region and change its perception. A series of postage stamps dedicated to the region was also proposed. All projects will receive financial, legal and informational support from the regional authorities," said the head of Luhansk Region Oleksiy Kharchenko during a weekly briefing.

In addition, this week, in preparation for the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident, the first offline meeting of the head of the regional state administration with liquidators took place in Dnipro, where issues of social and medical support, solving problems with housing, payments and medical care were discussed. The head of the region once again emphasized that he requires communities to approve programs to support veterans, including Chernobyl survivors.

The issues of a sustainable medical system in wartime, ensuring the availability of services, as well as social protection were discussed with the participation of relevant ministers as part of the "Dialogue with Communities" within the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.

During the regional forum "Consolidation of international cooperation to support relocated businesses", support programs for enterprises relocated from combat zones and opportunities for attracting international assistance for economic stability, preserving their personnel and innovative capabilities were considered.

Communities were instructed to intensify work with parents to inform them about the possibilities of improving the health of children at budget expense.

Currently, according to the head of the Luhansk OVA, UAH 32.3 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation of over 2,000 children within the framework of the "Summer 2026" campaign. Applications will be accepted until April 10, and the first events will start on June 1.

Oleksiy Kharchenko noted that payments of material assistance to military personnel and their family members, veterans, families of the deceased, disabled parents, and persons with disabilities are constant work.

A multi-level support system has been created: at the regional level - technical and material support for units, at the community level - targeted assistance to people.
