I wish you health!
Briefly about this day. In fact, our soldiers have been shooting down Russian drones all day long - air alerts were in most regions, more than 700 Russian drones, a significant part of them are "shaheeds". The percentage of shooting down for this day is quite high: about 90%, but, of course, it needs to be higher. Unfortunately, there were hits, in particular in the Volyn region, in the Zakarpattia region, in the Ternopil region, in the Chernivtsi region, in the Cherkasy region, in the Frankivsk region, as well as in other regions. Wherever necessary, restoration work is underway. Energy is again among the main targets for the Russians. In Lutsk, food warehouses and the Nova Poshta terminal were also damaged. In Poltava region, in other regions, there is damage to residential buildings. In fact, this is the Russians' response to our proposal for a ceasefire for the Easter holidays. Ukraine openly made such a proposal to Russia. Russia responds with "shaheeds" and continues its terrorist operations against our energy sector, against our infrastructure.
I spoke with the American team today, in particular, about this. Other signals are needed, and the silence on Easter could be exactly the signal that will tell everyone: diplomacy can be successful. Ukraine is doing everything to support the work for peace. Today we spoke in detail with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Lindsey Graham and Mark Rutte joined us. We talked about how to strengthen diplomacy, what steps are possible, also about security guarantees and the involvement of Europeans. It was a positive conversation. I want to thank Steve, Jared, Lindsey, Mark. We agreed to strengthen security guarantees, and I have already instructed our team to promptly update the documents so that security guarantees for Ukraine are strong, and so that the prospect of reconstruction after the war is real, and so that everything is workable. Everything must be relevant. We see what changes are in the world. How much can change in one moment. This applies to both alliances and security challenges. Ukraine must receive reliable security, and this is the main task. I am grateful that the representatives of the President of the United States hear us and are ready to work together to find the right compromises, the right steps, the right solutions. The key is how and what we all talk about with Russia together. And in how the documents are prepared, in particular on security guarantees. So that Ukrainians clearly understand how partners will react in the event of a repeat of Russian aggression and what, in fact, will deter Russia from aggression. We need strong joint positions, and our Ukrainian contribution to this force is definitely there. We are working with America. Thank you to everyone who helps us. I expect that the teams will work substantively in the near future so that we can all feel progress. The trilateral format is important, the leadership format is all that is needed.
One more thing.
It is important that Rustem Umerov continues to work with countries that are interested in our Ukrainian expertise for defense. We are preparing long-term agreements. It is long-term cooperation that always gives the best results. There are already agreements with Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar. We are working with Jordan. We are in communication with Kuwait, already with Iraq and Bahrain. And there is also already a significant interest from Turkey and some other countries from outside the Middle East, an interest in our Ukrainian strength. And we will definitely support those who support us. We are ready to work with those who respect us, respect Ukraine, respect Ukrainians and are ready to build real cooperation for decades. This is what will give Ukraine confidence. This is what will give our partners security. There will also be agreements with our partners in Europe - I have already talked about this with many. Today I spoke with the Prime Minister of Norway. Thank you, Jonas! Good conversation. Today I had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Britain - we are preparing new strong things. Thank you, Kira! Thank you to everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!
