We hope that we will continue the exchanges in the near future - the President's address

I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!

Today, it is important that the exchange was successful. We have been preparing for a long time. Every return of our people is important. We remember everyone. We search by every last name. Sometimes we find people after years when nothing was known about the person, and most importantly – so that we can return them home, to Ukraine.

I am grateful to everyone who works for the exchanges: our entire Coordination Headquarters team and intelligence, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, of course, the army, and most of all, every Ukrainian unit that ensures the replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine at the front. Your courage, soldiers, is a guarantee that we will be able to return people.

Prisoners of war, civilians – we remember everyone. We hope that we will continue the exchanges in the near future. At least from our side, we are doing all the work for this.

We spoke in detail yesterday and today with the Commander-in-Chief, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, and also with the Security Service of Ukraine about a regime of silence now, for Easter. Ukraine has proposed this repeatedly, and it would be good if it really worked out. Easter should be a time of security, a time of peace. It would be right for the ceasefire to continue. We made this proposal to Russia, and if Russia again chooses war over peace, it will once again demonstrate to the world, and in particular to the United States, who really wants what.

Ukraine will act in a mirror image. The tasks are defined for our army. If there are no Russian strikes, then there will be no responses from us. We remember how it was in similar situations before, and we clearly know who we are dealing with. If there are no Russian missiles, no Russian drones, we will also maintain silence in the sky. The task for the front is similar. But every Ukrainian unit has the right to respond.

Our priority is real security. Regarding the possibility of extending the ceasefire, the signal has been sent to the Russians.

We are also working separately with partners to move forward in negotiations and in guaranteeing security. Ukraine is in touch with the American side, in constant contact, at various levels. We are preparing very active work for the coming weeks with our European partners.

On Monday, there will be a detailed report by Rustem Umerov on all the agreements in the Middle East, in the Gulf and in other countries near this region – on our export of security capabilities. In fact, all partners equally perceive this as a success for Ukraine and say about it – that Ukraine really adds security. There is interest in this in Asia, and there are already the first agreements in the works. This definitely strengthens Ukraine as well. Now Rustem Umerov is already in Ukraine – we are coordinating draft agreements.

And today there was a report by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, and energy is the first priority in internal work now. It is very important that the energy system is working, working very well, we managed to add generation.

Thank you to everyone who works to make this Easter a bright one.

Glory to Ukraine!
