Dear Ukrainians!
Briefly about this day. First: I congratulated our marines. It was here, in Mariinsky, that I awarded the soldiers with state awards. Today is the Day of the Marine Corps of Ukraine. Thank you, soldiers! We are all proud of our marines.
I also thank the Security Service of Ukraine. Today, our long-range sanction against Russia was good: a distance of 1,700 kilometers from our state border of Ukraine and a clear defeat - the Perm region. A Russian military enterprise that ensures the operation of other military-industrial complex enterprises and the production of explosives, components for aviation equipment and drones. It is very important that Ukrainian sanctions successfully reach such objects and work at such a distance.
I also thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine: they continue to fairly respond to the facilities of the Russian oil industry. This time is Novorossiysk, the oil terminal and oil transshipment. And it is right that Russia is losing export revenues from oil. It is thanks to oil and gas that Russia has become so arrogant that it allows itself to fight in the modern world and continue to threaten everyone else.
All forms of sanctions against Russia and its allies must continue to work, and each relaxation of sanctions also weakens global security and postpones peace. We are currently working with European partners, we are preparing new sanctions packages, and I am grateful to our partners that Ukrainian proposals are being taken into account.
Today I signed our new Ukrainian sanctions package, which we must definitely extend to other jurisdictions. Sanctions against the occupiers – the Russian military, more than a hundred of them – who are involved in missile and drone strikes on our country, on our people. There is also a package against ships used by Russia to transport war cargo – weapons, ammunition, and equipment. We are also preparing our new sanctions solutions – both long-range and legal.
And one more thing. We are actively conducting diplomatic work with our partners in the European Union to bring Ukraine's membership in the EU closer. Ukraine is fighting for its life, for its independence, and for that Europe that has lived in peace the longest, protects people and life, protects culture, and it is thanks to such protection that it has a truly global role.
Without Ukraine, there can be no full-fledged European project, and Ukraine's presence in the EU must also be full-fledged - full-fledged. It is important to open clusters. It is important to move meaningfully in negotiations. It is important to work 100% for the sake of security and for the sake of our people. Thank you to everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine!
