Luhansk region celebrated the 88th anniversary of the region's formation. Implementation of social, cultural and humanitarian initiatives continues

The main event of the week was the celebration of the 88th anniversary of the formation of the Luhansk region.

In a solemn atmosphere, a number of public initiatives were introduced aimed at strengthening social cohesion and preserving the local identity of the region's communities.

In particular, the civic institute "Ambassadors of Luhansk Region" was presented, among whose first representatives were Serhiy Zhadan, educators, scientists, cultural figures, veterans, and youth leaders who are called to represent the region in Ukraine and beyond.

The launch of the regional rating "Pride of Luhansk Region 2026" was announced and the "Manifesto for Preservation of Local Identity" was signed, - this was reported by the Head of the Regional State Administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko.

The event, which took place at the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life "Pyrogovo", was attended by almost 1,000 Luhansk residents, including territorial leaders, representatives of the public, and clergy.

The communities of the region presented a large-scale exhibition of decorative and applied arts "Roots That Hold", unique preserved collections of the Novoaydar region, museum projects, in particular the "Chornukhyn Madonna", as well as products of military personnel and modern works of art.

The celebration included demonstration performances by athletes in all-around sports, exhibitions of VR/AR developments of the Taras Shevchenko Luhansk National University and the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.

In parallel, sporting events were held in Dnipro, including the "Free Pyramid" billiards tournament, as well as other cultural and educational events with the participation of Luhansk communities and displaced persons.

At the same time, measures to support internally displaced persons continued throughout the week.

In particular, in Kropyvnytskyi, 300 displaced people received humanitarian assistance and consultations from specialists on social protection issues.

A landmark event was the 29th graduation of cadets from the Luhansk Regional Lyceum with enhanced military-physical training.

Boys and girls continued the tradition of entering military educational institutions in Ukraine.
