“She Demines”: UN Women’s comprehensive program in Ukraine continues

She Demines is a comprehensive UN Women program aimed at promoting gender equality in the security sector and increasing women's participation in humanitarian demining, an area that is critical for economic recovery and the return of life to the deoccupied territories of Ukraine .

The program is implemented in partnership with the Association of Mineworkers of Ukraine NGO "Association of Mineworkers of Ukraine" , NGO Girls and BBC Media Action in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine with financial support from international partners - Canada 's Foreign Policy—Global Affairs Canada and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Ministarstvo vanjskij i europskih poslova .

It combines professional technical training and certification according to national mine action standards, clear safety rules, psychosocial support, and real opportunities for further employment.

The program will reach 3,000 women in six regions of Ukraine: Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv, who will receive psycho-emotional support and opportunities to develop leadership qualities. Among them, 300 women will undergo technical training and receive certification. The duration of the implementation is until June 2028. The recruitment of participants will continue until its completion.
