Dear liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident!
It has been 40 years since the largest man-made disaster in the history of mankind – the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. At that time, the planetary ecological disaster became another sentence to the totalitarian communist regime, the burden of which the Ukrainian people bore on their shoulders.
Historians emphasize the political irresponsibility of the Soviet government. Due to the imperfection of the structures and violations of construction technologies, it made this accident inevitable, and then deliberately put ideological interests above the lives of millions of people.
Today we bow our heads to the feat of over 600 thousand liquidators, among whom 13 thousand were from Luhansk region. It was they who, at the cost of their own health and lives, stopped the spread of deadly radiation. Decades later, we still remember the heroism of doctors and rescuers, whose courage allowed us to eliminate a fatal threat to all of Europe.
In 2022, Russian occupation forces briefly seized the territory of the Chernobyl NPP, held personnel hostage, and caused a new wave of radiation danger due to illiterate actions in the Red Forest. And in February 2025, an enemy drone damaged the shelter of the fourth power unit.
They are indifferent to memory, they do not care about the consequences of their own actions and the future. For Russians, nothing has changed since Soviet times. For them, the main thing is to carry out the order of the command, even if its price is too high and extremely dangerous for the continent.
This is also emphasized by their cynical blackmail around the Zaporizhzhia NPP, where history threatens to repeat itself.
Therefore, today's anniversary is not only a day of remembrance of past victims and the heroism of the liquidators. It is a call to the world to guarantee nuclear safety, which is impossible without the final overcoming of totalitarian threats.
