On May 28, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft of a new European-style Customs Code. It is one of the conditions for fulfilling obligations within the negotiation process for Ukraine's accession to the European Union.
This was reported by the press service of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The approved draft harmonizes the Ukrainian Customs Code with EU norms. The document introduces unified rules with the European Union, which provide for updating approaches to customs procedures, authorizations, declarations, provision of guarantees, and exemption from customs duties.
The implementation of the Code is expected to ensure transparent and predictable operating conditions between the Ukrainian and European markets. At the same time, existing authorizations will remain in force, and the digital "single window" system will continue to function without changes.
For reference
Updating the Customs Code is one of the key requirements for fulfilling obligations under the negotiating Chapter 29 "Customs Union", which is part of Cluster 2 "Internal Market".
