On September 18-19, the International Summit "Carpathian Integration Initiative" and the first "Carpathian Economic Forum" were held in Ivano-Frankivsk Region.
The event brought together almost 1,400 participants from 25 countries around the world, including all the Carpathian Initiative countries. Among them were over 800 representatives of central governments, regional administrations and local governments. Business was presented by almost 400 companies from all the Carpathian Eight countries.
The forum's investment portfolio includes 95 projects in energy, industry and manufacturing, innovative technologies, transport and logistics, infrastructure and real estate, agri-food sector, healthcare, and building materials.
"Today, we already have a practical basis for work. Our eight countries represent an investment portfolio of 95 projects with a total value of about 40 billion euros. And this is a joint regional offer for investors. For the first time, the Carpathian macroregion presented itself as a single market with a single investment portfolio. Also, more than 50 agreements worth over a billion euros have been prepared for signing. And this is just the beginning. Only the first year of our initiative," emphasized President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the opening of the forum.
The delegation from Luhansk Region was headed by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko.
It included the heads of the Starobilsk, Shulhynsk, Popasnyansk, Lysychansk, Siverskodonetsk, Rubizhansk, and Novoaydar local military administrations, members of the Luhansk Regional Youth Congress and its chairwoman Karina Ignatusha, representatives of the Khimproekt PJSC relocated from Siverskodonetsk to Kyiv, representative of the Luhansk Regional Development Agency Hanna Ryasna, and head of the International Cooperation Department of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Olena Kiyashko.
"It is extremely important for us to present the Luhansk region on an international platform. Together with the leaders of communities and relocated businesses of the region, we have been carefully preparing for this event. In particular, a regional list of investment projects has been formed. We presented 13 of them today. Among them are eight regional projects, the implementation of which is possible on the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine, and five private projects from our relocated enterprise," Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized.
It should be noted that the forum featured a special EXPO zone with stands from each of the eight countries of the Carpathian region. In particular, Ukrainian companies presented projects in the energy, industrial production, transport and logistics, and agri-food sectors.
