The head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, spoke online with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar.
"Currently, I am actively meeting with representatives of diplomatic institutions and international organizations to prove that, despite the lack of territory, the Luhansk region exists and is ready to develop cooperation on a partnership basis," emphasized Oleksiy Kharchenko and briefly presented possible areas of cooperation. In particular, in the field of education and medicine, the improvement of children and rehabilitation of veterans, and the development of intermunicipal cooperation.
Vasyl Bodnar, in turn, proposed to update the interaction within the framework of the existing tripartite agreement between the Lublin Voivodeship, Lviv and Luhansk regions, and also emphasized the idea of creating a Ukrainian-Polish educational institution in the city of Chełm.
According to him, the Polish side is very interested in studying the experience of relocated communities in the Luhansk region, inter-municipal cooperation in wartime conditions, creating a network of humanitarian hubs and other forms of support for IDPs, as well as in developing the historical and scientific dimension of cooperation.
Oleksiy Kharchenko thanked the Ambassador for his assistance in organizing summer vacations for children from the Shchastynska, Starobilska, and Severskodonetsk communities and instructed him to prepare a package of proposals for the development of partnership relations with Poland.
