The Presidents of Ukraine and Moldova honored the memory of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Moldova Maia Sandu honored the memory of the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident.

The heads of state installed lamps at the Monument to the Heroes of Chernobyl, located at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, near the power unit where the explosion occurred in 1986.

The ceremony was also attended by: Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Director General of the IAEA Rafael Grossi, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Odile Renaud-Basso, government officials, diplomats, Chernobyl NPP employees and liquidators, representatives of foreign delegations - participants of the International Chernobyl Conference on Recovery and Nuclear Safety.

Those present honored the memory of the liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster with a minute of silence.
