There will be a full audit of the work of the patrol officers, they should have acted in those circumstances - the President's address

Dear Ukrainians!

There was just a report by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko on the investigation of all the circumstances of the attack on people in Kyiv and the inaction of those two patrolmen who were at the scene of the crime, but did not stop the murderer, and fled themselves. There is already a criminal case on this fact, and there will be a full check of the work of the patrolmen - they should have acted in those circumstances. The State Bureau of Investigation is dealing with this case. The investigation into the attack and the verification of all the facts regarding the murderer, his condition, and his receipt of weapons are being conducted jointly by the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine. The Minister will make personnel conclusions across the entire vertical. It is also necessary to review the protocols for responding to such situations, as well as the selection and training of patrolmen.

Eight people who were injured are currently in hospitals. One person is in extremely serious condition. All necessary assistance is being provided.

Today I spoke with the President of Finland - Alex expressed his condolences. We are going through a war and every day, unfortunately, there are human losses from Russian strikes, on positions. It is especially painful to lose people like this, in an ordinary city, just on the street. Eternal memory to all those who died.

Next week we are preparing important news regarding our security cooperation with partners. Let us not forget that air defense for Ukraine, support for our army, ensuring our defense is an unchanging priority. There will be more of our security agreements – Rustem Umerov is working with the relevant countries. There is already an agreement on security cooperation with India – we are finalizing it so that there are documents. Rustem just reported to me the details. We are also preparing for new work with European partners to unblock the support package for Ukraine, which has already been approved, but has not yet started to arrive. It is important to unblock it. A separate issue is sanctions against Russia for this war and which should push Russia towards real diplomacy. Unfortunately, there is another decision by America to ease oil sanctions. There will be no real benefit from this for diplomacy, and every dollar from oil only sets Russia up to fight further. But even with this money they still will not solve the problems. Our long-range sanctions continue to work – I am grateful to all our soldiers for their accuracy. For this March alone, Russian oil losses from our long-range are estimated at at least 2 billion 300 million dollars. That’s one month. Now, in April, we continue. I would like to especially note for this the 1st Separate Center of the SBS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 98th Intelligence Center of the SSO, the 19th Missile Brigade, the 360th Separate Coastal Missile Brigade and our special forces: the Security Service of Ukraine, intelligence – and everyone who is trying to reduce Russia’s capabilities and increase our security – the security of Ukraine. We spoke with Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky – we will continue our long-range sanctions against Russia for this war.

Thank you to everyone who cares about Ukraine and who cares about Ukrainians. Thank you to everyone who helps!

Glory to Ukraine!
