This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleksiy Kharchenko, summarizing the events of the week.

Luhansk region continues comprehensive work to support the Defenders of Ukraine, provide social guarantees for internally displaced persons, and honor the memory of Heroes. The priority areas remain strengthening the defense capabilities of units holding the front.

Under the chairmanship of the head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, the Defense Council of the region approved the allocation of a subvention in the amount of UAH 68.27 million for the needs of the Defense Forces. The funds are intended for the purchase of unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, electronic warfare systems, special equipment and spare parts. In particular, the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard, the 10th Army Corps, the 3rd Separate Regiment of the Special Forces "East", the 24th Assault Regiment "Aidar" and other units received funding. In total, for two months of this year, the Luhansk region allocated UAH 134.59 million for these purposes.

Special attention was paid to the recognition of the contribution of Defenders and volunteers to the defense of the state. Oleksiy Kharchenko presented state awards and regional distinctions to veterans, servicemen and public figures. The badge of honor "Defender of Luhansk Region" and the distinctions of the President of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine" were awarded to persons who showed courage while deterring aggression and actively contribute to strengthening the security of the region.

At the state level, the feat of a native of Siverskodonetsk was marked with the highest award. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the Order of the Golden Star to the family of the deceased Hero of Ukraine, police lieutenant Kyrylo Zibrov. The fighter of the Luhansk assault regiment of the Lut brigade died in November 2024 near Toretsk, saving the life of a comrade at the cost of his own.

In the humanitarian sphere, support for vulnerable categories of IDPs was strengthened at the initiative of the head of the region. The Department of Social Protection of the Population, together with charitable organizations, provided generators to family-type orphanages, large and foster families. The transfer of thermal underwear for military personnel and displaced persons was also organized, as well as the delivery of food packages to residents of Luhansk region who are currently in Poltava and Kyiv regions. Oleksiy Kharchenko emphasized that social services focus on effective interaction with donors to address people's priority needs.

In parallel with regional programs, support continues at the level of local communities. In particular, the Lysychansk community, within the framework of the city program of social support for the Defenders of Ukraine, paid over 660 thousand UAH this year to mobilized residents and volunteers who were first accepted into military service under a contract.
