"Supporting the front is our undisputed priority. On the occasion of Ukrainian Statehood Day, we supported military units that maintain defense in the eastern direction and honored with regional awards those who showed personal courage during hostilities," emphasized the head of the Luhansk region, Oleksiy Kharchenko, during a weekly briefing.
Thus, the servicemen of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh were given unmanned systems "Gorobets", UAVs "DJI Matrice" of various modifications and automotive equipment. The fighters of the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine received vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles and charging stations, and the servicemen of the 100th separate mechanized brigade were given another batch of quadcopters "DJI Mavic". In addition, during a meeting with the servicemen of the 11th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the region handed over vehicles, communication equipment and drones.
Since the beginning of the year, UAH 44.1 million has been allocated from the regional budgets for the needs of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade, UAH 63.3 million to the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard, UAH 45.0 million to the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, and UAH 20.7 million to the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Regional awards were also presented to border guards, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, and the prosecutor's office for their contribution to strengthening national security and the revival of the Luhansk region.
At the same time, residents of the region continue to receive well-deserved awards for courage and self-sacrifice. Senior Sergeant Dmytro Radych, a native of Luhansk Region, who died while performing a combat mission near Raihorodka in September 2024, was posthumously awarded the decoration of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine - the Knight's Cross medal. The award was presented to his family as a sign of gratitude for his heroism, courage, and devotion to Ukraine.
One of the key areas of work is supporting the military and their families. This week, the Kreminsk City Military Administration allocated almost UAH 200,000 for the treatment of wounded defenders, support for the family of a deceased serviceman, compensation for the cost of rehabilitation, and assistance to servicemen raising children.
A summer health campaign is underway in the communities of the region. Thanks to the cooperation of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova, twenty internally displaced children are vacationing in Moldova, where they get acquainted with the country's culture, participate in educational activities and excursions.
Another 84 children from the Lysychansk community began a two-week recovery in the Transcarpathian region at the Karpaty camp. A rich program with creative, sports, and educational activities was organized for them.
In the Rubizhanska community, an additional UAH 1.76 million has been allocated for the rehabilitation of children for 176 children. In total, since the beginning of the summer, payments for 590 children in the amount of UAH 5.9 million have already been approved under the "Children are the Heart of the Community" program.
