A veteran from Severskodonetsk won four gold medals at the US Marine Corps & Air Force Trials 2026

At the Air Force and Marine Corps Trial in the USA, a Siverskodonetsk resident and veteran of the Lut National University Assault Brigade, Ivan Artyukh, won four gold medals in all four swimming distances in which he entered.

These are 100 and 50 meter freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke.

There are still competitions in various disciplines ahead. These will be rowing, cycling, and sitting volleyball.

Ivan plays for the Ukrainian national team, which represents our country at international competitions.

Ivana Artyukh is originally from Siverskodonetsk, currently lives and works in Kyiv. He served in the assault brigade of the National Police "Lyut". Before the full-scale war, Ivan worked as an investigator in the National Police in Siverskodonetsk, and with the beginning of the invasion he joined the combat units. He went through the Luhansk direction, the Kharkiv counteroffensive, battles for Lyman and the Bakhmut district. He was wounded in Chasovye Yar in the spring of 2024. After treatment and recovery in 2025, he completed his service.

Today, Ivan works as a lawyer at the Rubizhna City Military Administration and teaches law as an adjunct at the Kyiv Law Lyceum. He also actively trains and participates in various sports competitions.

Sports were always in his life. In his childhood and youth, he played football, basketball, volleyball, but most of all, he played swimming. Eight years of training, the title of candidate for master of sports, which Ivan confirmed in paraswimming after his injury.
