We are working to return all our people home from Russian captivity, hoping for good news - President's address

I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!

Briefly about this day. I spent the Stavka - issues on the front, on ensuring Ukrainian active actions, our defense. I thank every Ukrainian soldier who really provides Ukraine with strong positions. Our positions on the front, our defense production, our ability to thwart Russian plans - this is our strength in relations with key partners, and our diplomacy - what gives partners faith in Ukraine. There were relevant instructions at the Stavka to both the Minister of Defense and the military command. I also spoke today with Rustem Umerov - regarding his communication with the American side. We continue to communicate with America in a practically daily manner. Currently, due to the situation around Iran, there are still no necessary signals for a trilateral meeting. But as soon as the security situation and the general political context allow us to continue precisely that, trilateral, diplomatic work, it will be done. Ukraine is ready for this.

I am grateful to the intelligence, the Office, and all the services involved for taking steps to make further prisoner exchanges possible. We are working to bring all our people home from Russian captivity. We hope for good news. We are very actively talking these days with representatives of the Middle East and Gulf countries, and it is clear what their main request is for Ukraine. Everyone who has encountered strikes from Iran has an extraordinary challenge - "shaheeds", which are difficult to shoot down when there is no appropriate expertise and adequate weapons. In just a couple of days of active strikes, the Iranians launched more than 800 missiles and more than 1,400 drones at neighboring countries. Attacks from Iran continue constantly. Although the intensity of missile strikes from Iran has now partially decreased, there is a new threat. And this is the intention of the Iranian regime to block the Strait of Hormuz. This is a globally significant route for transporting oil and gas. It is precisely because of this threat that energy prices have been destabilized in many markets. We recently talked about this with Ursula von der Leyen. It is important to protect people's lives. It is important to restore stability and prevent the war from expanding. The Iranian regime should not win anything, and even less should it destroy life - neither there, in the region, nor globally - and this applies to us. And this is our common interest - to help people protect themselves. To also help restore stability in critically needed supplies more quickly. Partners are turning to us, to Ukraine, to help with protection from the "shaheeds" - with expertise, with real work. There have been requests for this from the American side as well. Now, these days, I have spoken with the leaders of the Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. There will be further negotiations with other regional leaders. We are also coordinating with our partners in Europe. Of course, any of our help is only on the condition that it does not reduce our own defense in Ukraine, and that it will be an investment in our diplomatic capabilities: we help protect against war those who help us, Ukraine, bring the war to a worthy end. We work for peace and for real security. I want to thank everyone who helps us!

Glory to Ukraine!
