We continue our work with partners, we expect significant things from the negotiations in May - the President's address

Dear Ukrainians!

There was a report by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, on the work of our services, which are helping Ukrainians after the Russian strikes. There were brutal strikes today in Kherson: drones against civilian transport - there were hits on minibuses. Unfortunately, there are dead. My condolences to the relatives and friends. There are wounded. Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance.

In Mykolaiv region, an energy facility was hit - also by a Russian drone. By the morning, electricity supply was restored. There were also strikes in the Dnipro, Odesa, Sumy regions, in Kharkiv, in other cities and communities. Our rescuers are working quickly everywhere - the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police are helping. I also want to note our crews, who are providing evacuation from the territory where hostilities are taking place.

And also the day before there was quite specific activity on the border of Ukraine and Belarus – from the Belarusian side. We are carefully recording everything, controlling everything and, if necessary, we will react. Ukraine is ready to defend its people, its sovereignty, and everyone should understand this, whoever they are trying to involve in any aggressive activity against Ukraine.

I just had a good conversation with Slovak Prime Minister Fico. We appreciate that Slovakia has taken steps to unblock the European support package for Ukraine and the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. We need to have strong bilateral relations with Slovakia – even when there are differences of opinion. We discussed the possibilities of meetings and work at the intergovernmental level. I have instructed the team to work out all the details.

A few more things. We are preparing new sanctions decisions – several sanctions packages – for today, for the near future. We continue our work with partners – in Europe, in the Middle East, in the Gulf, in other parts of the world – with everyone who can strengthen Ukrainian air defense and provide Ukraine with more economic power. We expect significant things from the talks in May.

There was a report by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky on our long-range capability: there are hits – they are important. I asked to thank the soldiers for the results.

I thank everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine! I thank everyone who works for our state and who fights for Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
