We expect that exchanges will continue in these days - the President's address

I wish you health, dear Ukrainians!

Today we talked in detail with the government about our tasks for spring and summer, the time during which we need to prepare as much as possible for the next winter. There may be as many challenges as there were this winter. Of course, our priority is to do everything to end the war. We will continue the diplomatic process when our American partners are ready to work as we agreed: bilateral formats with them, trilateral formats with Russia, and also work with the Europeans. Now almost all the world's attention is on the situation around Iran, and no matter how long the fighting there continues, we must be ready to resume diplomacy at any moment. The Ukrainian team is working exactly like that - everyone in our delegation.

There is another positive step in the exchanges. Another 200 of our people have returned home from Russian captivity. We expect that the exchanges will continue in these days. Nevertheless, Russian activity on the front remains, the strikes continue. We are protecting lives, part of guaranteeing security for Ukraine under any circumstances, in any scenarios is the modernization of the protection of key infrastructure. We also need to restore what was destroyed by strikes this winter. Detailed plans have been developed and will be approved for all regions. The responsibility of local authorities, regional authorities is not to waste time. I want to thank all community leaders who are approaching this conscientiously.

We talked today with government officials about the extraordinary challenges with roads - a lot needs to be restored after the winter, the condition of the roads is very poor, a special task - in the frontline area, in all communities, where every minute is important for the evacuation of the wounded and for frontline logistics in general. The government, together with the regional authorities, with communities, must ensure appropriate repairs. Separate tasks for the Ministry of Energy, separate tasks for Naftogaz, for Ukrnafta regarding price challenges due to the war in the Middle East. The global problem is the rise in prices for oil and oil products. There must be our Ukrainian responses to such challenges, and this applies, in particular, to providing the market in Ukraine with oil products. Government officials must be in detailed communication with people, with society, about this.

We are constantly working with partners on our ability to add protection to those countries that are currently under attack from Iran. Rustem Umerov coordinates contacts with partners in the Middle East, in the Gulf region, and we are also talking with the United States of America. Security support from Ukraine will be. The main thing is that this will allow us to expand our security cooperation with partners: by protecting countries from the Iranian regime, we add to our own defense capabilities.

A few more important things.

I spoke today with the head of the Italian government - Giorgia Meloni and I are coordinating very meaningfully. I am grateful for the advice and the principled support for Ukraine and the Ukrainians. We discussed the situation in the Middle East, as well as our bilateral work and relations with the European Union. We are preparing other diplomatic contacts for this and the coming weeks. Europe needs more coordination, more mutual support and more of its own strength - Europe should be more active.

I want to thank everyone who is defending life! I thank everyone who is with us, who is with Ukraine!

Glory to Ukraine!
