We remember the feat for the sake of life

It has been 40 years since the Chernobyl disaster, a date that has become a symbol of courage and self-sacrifice. On the eve of this anniversary, an event was held in the humanitarian hub of the Siverskodonetsk community to honor the liquidators and widows of our compatriots who stopped the nuclear disaster at the cost of their own health.

The meeting was held in a warm, informal atmosphere. Over tea, the liquidators had the opportunity not only to share memories, but also to receive professional support.

Tetyana Stekhin, Deputy Head of the Siverskodonetsk CMA, joined the conversation. Together with a specialist from the Department of Social Protection of the Population, she discussed with those present the current issues of social payments from the community, medical care, rehabilitation, and further support for community members who were affected by the disaster.

"April 26 is not only about memory, but also about real attention to the needs of those who saved the world 40 years ago. We remember your feat and are grateful for every life saved," said Tatyana Stekhina.

We will remind, by the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, the Siverskodonetsk CMA paid material assistance to 58 people who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, for a total amount of UAH 290 thousand. Also, material assistance was provided to 18 widows of deceased liquidators of the Chernobyl accident for a total amount of UAH 54 thousand.
